Travel Itinerary
First Day - Exploring the Wilderness: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Upon your arrival at Arusha airport, you will be greeted for your journey to Tarangire National Park, a scenic two-hour drive away. The park derives its name from the Tarangire River that meanders through its terrain, earning the moniker 'river of warthogs'. This water source sustains the park's wildlife during the dry season. The landscape varies, featuring areas with thick vegetation like elephant grass and acacia woodlands. Notably, the park is renowned for its elephant herds, often spotted gathering near the riverbanks. Following a satisfying lunch and an exciting game drive, we will make our way to the charming Marera Valley Lodge for overnight stay.
The Second Day - The Ngorongoro Caldera
Following a hearty breakfast, you will depart from the Lodge in the morning for a thrilling game drive at the Ngorongoro Crater. Exploring the Ngorongoro Crater while enjoying your packed lunch promises an unforgettable adventure. Few destinations match the incredible wildlife diversity and abundance found in the Ngorongoro. It's common to spot multiple members of the "Big Five" in a single day, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of the crater wall. By approximately 3:00pm, you will return to Marera Valley Lodge for a delicious dinner and to spend the night.
The Third Day - National Park of Manyara Lake
Your journey today will take you from Marera Lodge to Lake Manyara National Park, situated at the foot of the Rift Valley escarpment. The park's groundwater forest provides abundant opportunities for predators to hunt. While famous for its tree-climbing lions, Lake Manyara is also home to elephants, buffaloes, and leopards, among other wildlife. Following lunch, you will embark on a game drive through the park before continuing your trip to Arusha. In Arusha, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back to Zanzibar.
