Travel Itinerary
The First Day - Journey from Arusha to the Serene Beauty of Lake Manyara National Park
Situated at the foot of the Western Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is a serene, alkaline lake. This park boasts a diverse range of environments within its compact size. Upon entering, one is greeted by a stunning groundwater forest. Additionally, visitors can explore the grassy floodplain, rugged escarpment, and acacia woodland during a brief half-day excursion. Further into the park, a visit to the hot springs promises a unique and memorable experience.
The Second Day - From Lake Manyara to the Serengeti: A Journey through Two Stunning National Parks
The Serengeti stands out as a renowned national park, showcasing abundant wildlife and classic African landscapes. As Tanzania's oldest park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is famed for hosting the breathtaking wildebeest migration and providing exceptional wildlife sightings all year round. Annually, more than 2 million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles journey from the Serengeti to Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve. If you are fortunate to visit at the opportune moment, you may witness vast herds of wildebeest and zebras extending as far as the eye can see. Your itinerary includes a half-day game drive in Serengeti National Park and a full day game drive in the same park.
The Third Day - Safari Adventure: Exploring Serengeti National Park on a Full-Day Wildlife Excursion
One of the top destinations for wildlife viewing in Africa is the Serengeti. You can witness a wide variety of safari animals in abundance here, making it a thrilling experience. While cheetahs and four of the Big Five are commonly sighted, spotting rhinos, particularly black rhinos, is quite rare. Apart from the majestic big cats, you can also catch glimpses of various other predators, such as spotted hyenas, especially during the morning hours.
The Fourth Day - From Serengeti to Ngorongoro: Exploring the Stunning Tanzanian Wilderness
Following breakfast in the morning, you will embark on a brief safari drive through the Serengeti park, accompanied by a packed lunch or the option to return for a hot meal. The chances of spotting cheetahs and four of the Big Five animals are promising, although rhinos are more elusive. Following the game drive, the journey will continue towards the Ngorongoro region, where you will enjoy dinner and spend the night at Rhino Lodge before nightfall due to the weather conditions near the Ngorongoro crater rim.
The Fifth Day - Exploring Wildlife in the Ngorongoro Crater
At dawn, following your morning meal, you will embark on a drive from Rhino Lodge to the Crater. Exploring the Ngorongoro Crater promises an unforgettable adventure. Few locations can match the rich diversity and abundance of wildlife found here. Witnessing the Big Five in a single day is not uncommon, making the Ngorongoro Crater a top destination for remarkable wildlife encounters in Africa. The vast crater boasts an impressive array of safari animals in large numbers. Spotting the elusive black rhinos, a rare sight in other parts of Tanzania, is a special highlight against the striking backdrop of the crater wall towering at 600 meters (1,968 feet) high.
The Sixth Day - From Tarangire National Park to the city of Arusha
After enjoying a hearty breakfast in the morning, you will embark on a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park. Here, you can witness a diverse range of wildlife, including up to 300 majestic elephants searching for water in the dry riverbeds. The park is also home to migrating herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest, and eland congregating around the diminishing lagoons. Keep an eye out for mongoose colonies residing in abandoned termite mounds. While all the main predators can be found in the park, their sightings may be less frequent due to the dense vegetation compared to other parks in northern Tanzania.
